Kat is a dedicated criminal justice reform advocate with nearly a decade of experience in criminal justice reform advocacy and civil rights restoration. Currently with the Alliance for Safety and Justice as the Arizona State Director, she has held various roles in organizing and program development at national and statewide nonprofits.

Kapri serves as a CA Government Affairs Manager supporting our CSJ program and brings a range of experience in government, coalition building, and public policy. With a passion for social justice and background in identity-based organizations, Kapri supports work in government relations, political advising, and public safety.
Chief Financial Officer
Joel Lam is the Chief Financial Officer at the Alliance for Safety and Justice (ASJ) and is responsible for leading all financial activities. In this capacity, he has strategic oversight of the financial growth that enables ASJ to scale up and sustain its national reach across 15 states.
ASJ Events Director
Shonda Smith is thrilled to join the Alliance for Safety and Justice (ASJ) as its first Events Director. In this role, she will develop and lead the execution of a wide range of impactful events both locally and nationally.
Shonda brings a wealth of experience as a seasoned professional with in-depth leadership expertise in positioning nonprofits for sustainable growth and success. Her unique blend of skills in event management, fundraising, public relations, content development, and brand-building has led her to powerhouse organizations such as the Harlem Children’s Zone, Girl Scouts of the USA, MADRE, Innocence Project, and now, ASJ.

Brielle Blackshear is an experienced nonprofit manager with nearly seven years of expertise in nonprofit development operations and strategy. In her previous role as Development Manager at Princeton AlumniCorps, she spearheaded initiatives to provide leadership development opportunities for nonprofit leaders nationwide. Brielle’s passion for social impact work began during her undergraduate years at Rutgers University, where she earned a B.A. in Labor Studies and Employment Relations with a minor in Public Health, all while being a new mom.
Organizing Manager, TimeDone
Alfred serves as our TimeDone Regional Manager and is a dedicated professional who excels at forging high-level relationships and harnessing community power through a range of effective tactics. His approach includes creating coalition partnerships, lobbying elected officials and government representatives, recruiting and developing volunteers, and engaging voters. By working in close collaboration with diverse communities, youth groups, formerly incarcerated individuals, and other advocacy groups, Alfred ensures that the interests and vision of affected populations are fully represented in his work.
TimeDone Program Manager
Danielle serves as the TimeDone Program Manager, using project management and operations expertise to drive the program’s initiatives forward. A certified Project Management Professional since 2018, Danielle has lead projects in the areas of digital marketing, event planning, software implementation, building management, and more.
