Rebecca Sheff

State Policy Analyst

Rebecca serves as a State Policy Analyst here at ASJ and has over a decade of policy, advocacy and organizing experience. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively on a robust portfolio of public safety campaigns and legislation, including state efforts to abolish the required fees to seal juvenile records and endeavors to incorporate restorative justice practices into the justice system. Rebecca’s work in direct services, coordinating an advice and counseling line for student and worker survivors experiencing discrimination and/or harassment at Equal Rights Advocates and with system-involved youth with Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth, has deeply informed the community-centered approach to policy that Rebecca utilizes. Most recently, Rebecca served as a Policy Analyst for California State Senator Nancy Skinner. She holds a B.A. from University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Legal Studies from Pepperdine University, Caruso School of Law.
