Anna Turner is the TimeDone Chapter Development Manager for the Alliance for Safety and Justice (ASJ) and will be responsible for supporting staff with internal strategic management, and ensuring deliverables are being met.

Anna is a firm believer in the power of people, and social justice work has a place for everyone who has diligence, determination, and discipline. As an adolescent, Anna was taught the true essence of community through service and active participation. Anna began her social justice career at the age of 14, fighting against environmental racism, while empowering other community members, especially young people, to become involved.

Anna has over 20 years of experience in social justice work that has placed her in front of the cameras, speaking at the podiums, marching in the streets, facilitating and participating in the strategy sessions, and later being able to develop others. Starting on the grassroots side of social justice gives Anna additional insight of what is needed to support all aspects of the work.

Anna has developed a strong appreciation for the behind-the-scenes of social justice and movement building work. On the management and development level, Anna has coached new social justice organizers, and organizations, created and facilitated strategic planning processes, assisted in the creation of new programs. She enjoys creating ways for teams to implement strategies based upon their vision and their skill set while also identifying development and training opportunities as well as evaluation methods.

Prior to ASJ, Anna held the Operations Manager position for Live In Peace, Inc. in East Palo Alto, CA focusing on staff development, programmatic implementation and general organizational operations and systems management. Anna currently lives in East Palo Alto and serves on three non-profit boards. Anna enjoys arts and crafts, adventures, and meeting new people.
