Ida Sefer, Web and Data Manager

Ida began her career streamlining the flow and handling of data for a software firm and various health management organizations.  Immediately prior to joining Alliance for Safety and Justice, Ida was the web and database manager at GLSEN, an organization dedicated to protecting LGBTQ students. 

At the Alliance for Safety and Justice she blends her passion for justice and data in her role as the Web and Data Manager. 

A survivor of the genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ida has dedicated much of her life to studying and sharing about the history of the Balkans and violence in general. She has taught undergraduate courses in Gender and Genocide Studies and serves as president of the Bosnian-American Genocide Institute, which hosts the Bosnian Diaspora Conference and other commemorative gatherings.

Ida has a B.A. in Physics from North Central College and two graduate degrees, an M.A. Gender Studies and an M.S.W. from Loyola University Chicago.
