Sandhya Gopalan, Accountant
Sandhya brings over 7 years of experience working in both the nonprofit and for-profit industries. After graduating from the University of Mumbai with a degree in Accounting and Finance and working for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Shipping, Sodexo at Unilever and Trafigura, she moved to the United States in 2015. As she has developed her career, she has become very committed to developing her accounting career in the non-profit space. Her long-awaited interest in formally working for an impactful non-profit organization was finally fulfilled when she joined Saint Francis Foundation as an Accountant in September 2015, where she had an opportunity to hone her accounting skills, automate accounting entries and implement a CRM, and develop an Expense reporting system. Although this was all hard work, her pride in working for Saint Francis Foundation made this very worthwhile. This encouraged her to take on more challenges and join Jewish Family and Children Services as a Senior Accountant. She is excited to continue her journey in the nonprofit sector with the Alliance for Safety and Justice. In her personal time, Sandhya enjoys organizing events and parties, creating things out of waste (handicrafts), and acting (she has worked on two short films directed by her friends).
